Roman Thraco-Dacian Runners Torch Holder

This is a Bronze Thraco Dacian Runners Torch Holder of the Roman Period, it has lead overlay and some work in wax,it has precise dents in order to provide the runner with a secure grip. It has been cut and shaped to show a metal smith's mystery rite to do with the Thraco-Greek war god Aries, it may have been also connected to the goddess Bendis. It may give at least one answer as to the Thraco-Dacian worship of the wolf.

Aries

This group of pictures shows the torch holder upside down. At the bottom of the cutout there is a small piece of pale yellow material. Although not completely understood this small speck is a central theme. Picture 14 shows a Thraco-Greek god Aries in a chariot. Pictures 21 thru 23 shows the chariot as a clock, but also as a flag, and perhaps a scroll. Pictures 24 thru 26 shows a group in a boat battling a large fish. Pictures 27 thru 33 show the tip of what was Aries helmet, there are scenes that may have to do with reaching a pinnacle.

This group of pictures appears to be of a celestial being that travels on a meteor, impacts as a meteorite, and then pushes up from the impact crater.

Iron Meteorite Metal

This group of pictures appears to have to do with a knife cutting the head off the meteorite being, most likely by the wolf shaman seen with the second group of pictures. Another view shows a hammer that pounds the meteorite being. This is no doubt to do with a legendary metal smith that had been the first to work iron from a meteorite.
